2013 New Years eve Cuban style

We celebrated the 31st at the home of my brother Tony and his wife Esther, it was also their wedding anniversary. She decorated Black and Silver and they cooked the pig old school like my dad use to do.

look at the beautiful table clothes Esther bought online

here are the center pieces I made (notice the black glitter ornaments I made hanging from the branches)

Tio Jujo removing the metal brackets from the 100 pound pig

Here is the brick oven we cooked the pig in, made by placing an aluminum plate on the ground surround it by large bricks and cooked on top of a fence door and covered it with banana leaves

I decorated my cup cake stand with 5 different diamond brouche

this ring and cake was Tony and Esther's anniversary celebration

It was a beautiful night Esther and Tony out did them self's to make it a magical night. They invited the whole family and only a few of us went. Half of the family cancelled just hours before dinner. Our family has split up!! My dad is looking down from heaven with a tear rolling down his face. I'm sorry dad :-(

How to make glitter ornaments

I purchased clear heart ornaments below for 50 cents each box @ Michael's after Christmas clearance.

I will show you step by step how to make these. I will use these for Valentines and again for Christmas ....
HERE ARE THE FINISHED ORNAMENTS

ingredients:
  1. ONE BOTTLE OF MOP AND GLO
  2. CLEAR ORNAMENTS
  3. 2 FUNNELS
  4. FINE GLITTER *will not work with any other glitter

steps:

  1. pour a little bit of  mop & glo into an ornament/make sure the whole ornament gets saturated with the liquid, including the tip
  2. place funnel over the bottle of mop and glo and pour the liquid back in make sure you let it sit for a few seconds
  3. now place the other funnel over the ornament and pour in the glitter, move the ornament round and round till all of the glitter covers the glass ornament
  4. pour shake ornament back into the glitter bottle to remove any extra glitter
  5. place to dry back
  6. once glitter is dry replace the hook

here is the ornaments on my Valentine tree

I LOVE THE WAY THE ORNAMENTS CAME OUT, I PICKED UP SOME BRANCHES FROM A LOCAL PARK AND DECORATED THEM WITH THE ORNAMENTS. IT TURNED OUT BEAUTIFUL.
